Dundas Tablelands
The Dundas Tablelands is the second biggest bioregion in the Glenelg Hopkins catchment. It is separated in two by the Victorian Volcanic Plains and the Greater Grampians bioregions. It was largely dominated by grassy Eucalypt woodland at the time of European arrival, and since the 1830s has been heavily cleared.
Many of the roadside red gums pre-date European arrival
Derived native grasslands were historically woodland prioir to tree clearing but have retained their native understory
The nationally endangered hoary sunray, largely restricted in Victoria to roadsides on the Dundas Tablelands
