Wimmera Bioregion

Wimmera

Only 1.7% of the Wimmera Bioregion is captured within the Glenelg Hopkins region. These parts of the Wimmera are on ancient sand ridges. Where native vegetation persists, it is generally dominated by Desert Stringybark, forming an important linkage for the red-tailed black cockatoo between the Glenelg Hopkins and Wimmera catchment regions.
